Comments:
There is damage to this melody because of the excision of its initial, which removed part of the right side of this column. In the first phrase, a faint B is visible under the patch- it is not included in VWE but I have included it here. Similarly, in Phrase 2 there is an A partially visible under the edge of the patch, and I have included it here, as in Phrase 3 I have included a plicated D partially visible under the patch. VWE includes those additional notes from Phrases 2 and 3 in the reconstruction of the phrase he gives based on the repetition of the phrases later in the melody.
