Comments:
This folio has a narrow section excised from the top center of the folio, removing part of each column roughly halfway down the folio. This damage, however, has not resulted in the loss of any notes for the melody, only a few letters, provided the single-vowel words involved the damage had only one neume each as expected. There is an important note for viewing this melody through the Gallica images- the notes at the edge of the damage are only visible in the black & white images of this manuscript, not that in color (based on the placement of the edge of the patch, the repair job may have been altered at some point between the time the b/w images were shot (posted to Gallica on 14 March 2011) and when the color shots were taken (posted to Gallica on 2 January 2012)). The notes that are obscured in the color images are the last note(s) of the columns on 191v: neume 3 of phrase 4; the final neume of phrase 5; and the fifth neume of the final phrase. From the editions, it is clear that Van der Werf used images showing those missing notes as they appear in his edition, while that of Cuesta does not include those notes and contains some redistribution of the text underlay to compensate for that lack.
