Comments:
The final neume of the melody is notated as DCBA in the manuscript; Van der Werf believes this is too low due to the melody's other characteristics and in his edition he has the pitches transposed as FEDC. (VWE 283*; Gennrich also uses this ending.) The first notes of stanza 2 are also notated (given here after the double bar closing the complete melody). There are three points where the editions by Chaillou and Gennrich differ from that of Van der Werf and the manuscript. Gennrich write his transcription with the first two phrases as a repeat with first and second endings; however, there is one different note in Phrase 3 compared to Phrase 1 (an additional C as note 4, which Chaillou transcribes as D), and two different notes in Phrase 4 compared to Phrase 2 (a repeated G as note 3, omitted by Chaillou, and a repeated C as note 6). Chaillou read neume 6-7 of Phrase 8 as EDC instead of ECB as in the manuscript, while Gennrich transposes the remainder of the melody up a third beginning with neume 5 of Phrase 7. Sesini's reading follows the manuscript and agrees with the transcription here; he includes the doubled C in Phrase 4 in parentheses.
